Dahlias, Hydrangeas and Moulin Rouge Sunflowers

Before delivering flowers to a wedding or event, I always try, with the help of my husband, to take some quick photos of the flowers. Often I look back and wish I had taken more time to do a thorough job in photographing my work. However, in the moment I am more focused on getting the flowers out the door, loaded up, and getting the flowers to where they need to be safely and on time. The following photos were of a September wedding (yes I am a bit behind on my postings).

July Wedding

Kristie and Ben chose to have both their ceremony and reception at the lovely Columbus Atheneum on July 3rd, 2011. I was able to incorporate several local cuts including hostas, begonia, celosia, and cosmos. Kristie provided the fragile eiffel tower vases and asked that I build a colorful, cascading arrangement. She originally wanted all orchids but I suggested a creative alternate that would produce the same effect while keeping costs down a bit. The large theatre at the Atheneum was made complete by these elegant centerpieces.

Summer weddings have begun!

It was my pleasure to provide flowers for a wedding at the Worthington United Methodist church with the following reception at York Golf Club. If was a beautiful sunny day for a wedding and everything came together wonderfully. The bride and groom had choosen a color palette of navy blue and seafoam green and wanted to complement the scheme with apricot/peach colored flowers.

May Weddings of Pastels

My favorite wedding from this May was on May 14th at the King Ave. Methodist Church with the reception following at the Cultural Arts Center in downtown Columbus. The flowers went perfectly with the pastel color theme of the paintings hanging on the walls.
